Secret Origins es el título de algunos especiales y series de revistas de historietas publicadas por DC Comics. En dichas series se relatan los orígenes de diversos personajes, grupos o situaciones en el universo de personajes de dicha editorial, ya sea en reediciones de historias previamente publicadas o historias originales.

Secret Origins Special Giant Issue (1961)

El primer número de Secret Origins fue un especial unitario publicado en 1961 que contenía solo material reimpreso.^[1] En el año 1997 se publicó una reedición facsímil de este número.

Segunda serie regular (1986-1990)

En 1986 se lanza la segunda serie regular. Los primeros 5 números de esta serie contaban con 36 páginas y desentrañaban el origen post-Crisis de un personaje. A partir del sexto número pasaría a tener 52 páginas y se dedicarían al menos a dos personajes, uno de la edad dorada y otro más moderno.^[4]

Esta serie tuvo una duración de 50 números, entre abril de 1986 hasta agosto de 1990,^[5] además de tres anuales^[6] y un especial.^[7] Roy Thomas fue el encargargado de la mayoría de los guiones de los personajes de la edad dorada. El mismo Thomas sería el editor de varios números de la colección hasta que a partir del número 24 el título sería supervisado exclusivamente por Mark Waid, con guionistas rotativos.
