Trigonostylops est un genre éteint de mammifères ongulés de l'ordre des Astrapotheria, qui vivait du Paléocène supérieur à l'Éocène en Argentine.

Espèces

Une seule espèce est répertoriée, Trigonostylops wortmani.

Occurrence

Un crâne complet de l'espèce type, Trigonostylops wortmani, a été découvert et classé comme un Astrapotheria en se basant sur ses grandes défenses inférieures, en comparaison avec le genre plus récent Astrapotherium.

Description

Trigonostylops mesurait environ 1,50 mètre de long^[1]. Ses dents, des molaires principalement, ont été découvertes et assignées à d'autres espèces^{[réf. nécessaire]}.

Phylogénie
