Suku Iliria

Suku Iliria (bahasa Yunani Kuno: Ἰλλυριοί, Illyrioi; bahasa Latin: Illyrii atau Illyri) adalah sekelompok suku Indo-Eropa pada zaman kuno yang tinggal di bagian barat Balkan dan pesisir tenggara semenanjung Italia (Messapia). [1] Wilayah dimana suku Iliria tunggal dinamakan sebagai Iliria oleh para pengarang Yunani to Romawi, yang mengidentiditikasikan teritorial yang meliputi bekas Yugoslavia dan sebagian besar Albania, antara Laut Adriatik di bagian barat, sungai Drava di bagian utara, sungai Morava di bagian timur dan mulut sungai Aoos di bagian selatan.[2] Catatan pertama tentang suku Iliria datang dari Periplus Pseudo-Scylax, sebuah teks Yunani kuno dari pertengahan abad ke-4 SM yang menyebutkan para pemukim pesisir di Laut Tengah.[3]
