Frances Wyndham

Lady Frances Wyndham (Petworth, 9 luglio 1755 – 15 gennaio 1795) è stata una nobildonna inglese^[1].

Biografia

Era la figlia di Charles Wyndham, II conte di Egremont, e di sua moglie, Alicia Carpenter, figlia di George Carpenter, II barone Carpenter.

Matrimonio

Sposò, il 30 agosto 1776, Charles Marsham, figlio di Robert Marsham, II barone di Romney. Ebbero quattro figli^[2]:

Charles Marsham, II conte di Romney (22 novembre 1777-29 marzo 1845);
Lady Frances Marsham (25 ottobre 1778-30 giugno 1868), sposò Sir John Riddell, ebbero sette figli;
Harriet Marsham;
Amelia Charlotte Marsham (1782-?)^[3].

La coppia visse a Mote, nel Kent, dove Lady Romney era responsabile dell'organizzazione dei terreni. Si diceva che avesse "un gusto straordinariamente raffinato nello scenario paesaggistico e nell'orticoltura", ma morì prima che il lavoro fosse completato^[4].

Morte

Morì il 15 gennaio 1795, prima che suo marito fosse creato conte di Romney.

Un ritratto di Frances è stato dipinto da Sir Joshua Reynolds nell'anno del suo matrimonio. Fu per un periodo di proprietà di Michael Bass, I barone Burton^[5].
