Phillip James Edwin Peebles OM FRS (lahir 25 April 1935) ialah ahli astrofizik, ahli astronomi dan kosmologi teori Kanada-Amerika yang pada masa ini ialah Profesor Emeritus Sains Albert Einstein di Universiti Princeton.[1][2] Beliau secara luas dianggap sebagai ahli kosmologi teoretikal terkemuka di dunia sejak 1970, dengan sumbangan teoritis utama kepada nukleosintesis primordial, jirim gelap, latar belakang mikrob kosmik, dan pembentukan struktur.

Peebles dianugerahkan separuh daripada Hadiah Nobel dalam Fizik pada tahun 2019 untuk penemuan teorinya dalam kosmologi fizikal. Beliau berkongsi hadiah dengan Michel Mayor dan Didier Queloz kerana penemuan mereka dengan eksoplanet yang mengorbit bintang seperti matahari.[3]
