The Glass Menagerie
The Glass Menagerie (Staklena menažerija) je kazališni komad Tennesseeja Williamsa. Drama je premijerno prikazana u Chicagu 1944. godine, a godinu dana kasnije je dobila prestižnu nagradu Kruga njujorških dramskih kritičara. The Glass Menagerie je bio Williamsov prvi uspješni komad; nakon nje je postao jedan od najuglednijih američkih dramskih pisaca. Često se navodi kako The Glass Menagerie od svih Williamsovih drama ima najviše autobiografskih elemenata.
Filmske i televizijske adaptacije
Najranija filmska adaptacija predstave The Glass Menagerie je istoimeni igrani film u režiji Irvinga Rappera iz 1950. godine s Gertrude Lawrence, Jane Wyman, Kirkom Douglasom i Arthurom Kennedyjem u glavnim ulogama.
8.12. 1966. američka TV-kuća CBS je emitirala vlastitu verziju sa Shirley Booth,Halom Holbrookom i Patom Hingleom u glavnim ulogama.
16.12. 1973. je, pak, ABC emitirala drugu po redu TV verziju u režiji Anthonyja Harveya, s Katharine Hepburn, Samom Waterstonom, Michaelom Moriartyjem i Joannom Miles u glavnim ulogama. Sve četvoro glumaca su nominirani za Emmyje, a dobili su ih Moriarty i Miles.
Nova filmsku verziju je 1987. godine snimio Paul Newman s Joanne Woodward, Johnom Malkovichem, Karen Allen i Jamesom Naughtonom u glavnim ulogama.
U Indiji je 2004. godine snimljen film Akale (Preko), adaptacija drame na malayam jeziku.
