Sjedinjene DržaveThe Sinking of Lusitania (sh. Potapanje Lusitanije) je američki kratki crno-bijeli nijemi animirani film snimljen 1918. u režiji Winsora McKaya. U njemu je rekonsturirano potapanje britanskog putničkog broda RMS Lusitania koga je 7. maja 1915. torpedirala njemačka podmornica U-20, pri čemu je stradalo 1200 ljudi, uključujući 128 američkih građana. McKay, jedan od najpopularnijih američkih crtača i ilustratora, je bio time ogorčen i htio je odmah napraviti film, ali je njegov poslodvac, uticajni izdavač William Randolph Hearst simpatizirao Centralne sile te se protivio ulasku SAD u prvi svjetski rat. McKay je zbog toga film radio u slobodno vrijeme i financirao vlastitim novcem; iako je koristio revolucionarnu tehniku tzv. celova, trebalo mu je dvije godine da film dovrši. Premijeru je imao u vrijeme kada su SAD već bile u ratu te je imao snažnu propagandnu notu. The Sinking of Lusitania se smatra jednim od najvažnijih ostvarenja filmske animacije, a McKayeve tehnike neće biti nadmašene sve do 1930-ih.
